So I got my boots on, got the right 'mount of leather
And I'm doing me up with a black color liner
And I'm workin' my strut but I know it don't matter
All we need in this world is some love
And I'm doing me up with a black color liner
And I'm workin' my strut but I know it don't matter

Nick had focussed on settling in the gelding for the last two days, and getting himself settled as well. Obviously the horse came first, and Nick was more than happy to comply. It was now shortly after nine, and Nick was clad in grey breeches, black paddock boots with half chaps and a short sleeved polo shirt from WEG. In his hands he swung a a black lead rope and looked ahead in shaded eyes. An alert Seattle Snow stood in his stall, and whinnied eagerly when he saw Nick. Hey boy, he said, scratching the horse underneath his grey forelock. Slipping into the stall, he gave the gelding a good groom. One thing about having a grey horse is that there is never such a thing as a quick groom. Snow dozed off during the brushing, and cocked a hind leg for good measure.
When finished, Nick tied up the horse outside to clean out his hooves. He also felt for any heat or swelling that might have occurred, but luckily not. Wrapping Snow's leg in the royal blue polo wraps, Nick stood up and put on the horse's leather halter. Leading the gelding to one of the round pens, he slipped it off. Nick was going to join-up with Snow, and see how the horse reacted to his surroundings.
Snow was unsure of how to react at first, but Nick's body language was enough. He pushed the horse into a trot with a hup, but Snow was lazy. His feet dragged, and it was lacking the energy from behind. Hup! he called to the horse again, and swung the black rope behind. Snow broke into a canter before turning on his hind legs and going the opposite direction. Nick was there to block his path, and Snow turned again to go on the path that he had gone.
Snow's head was thrown up and his ears pulled back slightly. He was focusing on the going on's outside the arena, rather than Nick, who was driving him. It was hard work, and soon both Nick and Snow had broken out in a sweat. There was no letting up though, and it there would only be a break when Snow gave off the signs that Nick wanted to see.
